A FEW TIPS FOR A FUN SESSION

CHAT WITH THE KIDS
Before your session, I encourage you to talk with your children about what’s coming—but keep it light and fun.
This isn’t a test, and they don’t need to “perform” for the camera. We’re simply creating an opportunity for your family to spend time together, laugh, play, snuggle, and enjoy one another.
I’m a mom of three myself, so I know firsthand that kids will be kids. They may not always follow the plan, and honestly, some of my favorite photographs happen when they don’t.
We’ll embrace their personalities, their energy, their curiosity, and all the wonderfully unpredictable little moments that make them who they are.
There is no need to pressure your children to smile or behave perfectly. Let them be themselves.
I’ll meet them where they are, earn their trust, and give them plenty of room to simply have fun.
Because sometimes the sweetest photograph is the one that happens when no one is trying to create it.

REST UP
Happy, well-rested families make for happier, more relaxed sessions.
Because most of my family sessions take place in the evening during that beautiful Golden Hour, I recommend making sure everyone has had plenty of rest and something to eat beforehand.
If dinner will be after your session, consider giving everyone a light, nourishing snack before you arrive.
And please don’t worry if your little one isn’t perfectly rested or arrives with a little extra energy. We’ll work with it.
The goal is not perfection.
The goal is connection, laughter, and beautiful memories.

RELAX
This one is for the parents.
Take a deep breath. You’ve got this.
It’s completely normal to feel a little nervous in front of the camera, especially if you’re not used to having your photograph taken.
But I promise—you don’t need to know what to do.
I’ll guide you every step of the way.
When parents are relaxed and present, children naturally begin to relax too. Instead of worrying about getting the “perfect” photograph, focus on your family. Look at your children. Hold them close. Laugh with them. Enjoy your partner.
Let me worry about the camera.
The more you allow yourself to be in the moment, the more genuine and beautiful your photographs will become.

PETS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME
Your pets are family, too. Of course they’re welcome!
If you’re bringing your pup along for your family session, I recommend giving them a good walk or some brisk exercise before arriving. A little energy burned beforehand can help your four-legged family member feel calmer and more settled once we begin.
Bring their favorite treats, a toy if needed, and plenty of patience.
And don’t worry if they don’t sit perfectly or look at the camera every time.
Some of the most meaningful photographs are the ones that capture the genuine relationship between you and your pet—the way they look at you, lean against you, or simply want to be close.
Those moments are part of your story, too.

TIME FOR SOME FUN

This is your permission slip to let go and have fun.
Your session is not about standing perfectly still and smiling at the camera for an hour. It’s about being together.
There will be laughter.
There will be hugs.
There will be movement, play, snuggles, tickles, kisses, and probably a little beautiful chaos along the way.
I want you to interact with one another rather than perform for the camera. Tell your child a silly joke. Chase them through the grass. Pull your partner close. Laugh until it feels completely natural.
The best photographs often happen when you forget I’m there.
There is no need to manufacture a good time. When you’re surrounded by the people you love, simply allow yourselves to enjoy one another and let the moments unfold naturally.
The connection is the photograph.
My job is to recognize those fleeting moments and preserve them for you.
TIME FLIES
Arriving on time allows us to make the most of the time we have together and gives us the opportunity to create a beautiful variety of images without feeling rushed.
Please plan to arrive at your scheduled time and allow for the full session time outlined with your session selection.
Those extra few minutes can make all the difference. They give everyone an opportunity to settle in, become comfortable, and ease naturally into the experience.
And once we begin, we’ll make every moment count.
MOST IMPORTANTLY, ENJOY YOUR FAMILY.
Your session isn't about creating a picture-perfect family.
It’s about celebrating the real one you have.
The giggles.
The cuddles.
The wild energy.
The quiet moments.
The kisses.
The personalities.
The beautiful chaos.
Those are the things you’ll miss one day.
So come ready to have fun, love on your people, and make a memory together.
I'll take care of the rest.
