Preparing for Your Session
Your session is all about celebrating you—your personality, your style, your accomplishments, and this exciting season of life. It's your SENIOR year!!! A little preparation ahead of time will help you feel confident, comfortable, and completely ready to shine in front of the camera.
Hair & Makeup
Schedule any haircuts, tans, waxing, eyelash extensions, or other beauty appointments at least one week before your session. This allows plenty of time for any adjustments or touch-ups before your session day.
If you have a specific hairstyle or makeup look in mind, practice it beforehand so you know exactly how you want to wear it.
Treat yourself to a fresh manicure and pedicure.
Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your session. Hydrated skin has a beautiful, natural glow!
If you wear glasses, give them a good cleaning before your session. If you have an alternate pair—such as sunglasses—feel free to bring them along.
Wardrobe
Your wardrobe should feel comfortable, stylish, and true to you. Your images should reflect your personality and who you are at this moment in your life.
I recommend bringing 3–4 outfits, but having an extra option is always a great idea. You never know when you may arrive and decide that one outfit just isn’t feeling quite right.
Choose colors that complement your skin tone and make you feel confident.
Mix it up! Outfits can range from casual and relaxed to polished and dressy.
Show your school spirit by incorporating your school colors, jersey, or other meaningful pieces.
Show off your future! If you’ve already committed to a college, trade school, military branch, or another post-graduation path, consider incorporating it into your session with a sweatshirt, T-shirt, hat, pennant, or another meaningful item.
Organize your outfits ahead of time and make sure everything has been pressed or steamed before your session.
Keep clothing on hangers and, when possible, in a garment bag. This helps prevent wrinkles and keeps everything organized and ready to go.
The Day of Your Session
A little preparation goes a long way! Before you leave for your session, take a few moments to double-check everything.
Double-check all of your outfits.
Gather your accessories and jewelry.
Make sure your clothing is wrinkle-free.
Gather any props or meaningful items you’ve chosen to bring.
Moisturize and hydrate! Keep your skin happy, healthy, and glowing.
Give yourself plenty of time to get ready. You don’t want to feel rushed before your session.
Plan to arrive on time so we can make the most of our time together.
