That’s why every family session I create is completely customized to your family. We begin with a personal consultation—whether in person, by phone, text, or email—so I can get to know you, understand what matters most to you, and learn the look and feeling you envision for your portraits.
From there, I create a session designed specifically around your family’s personalities, relationships, and story. My goal isn’t simply to take beautiful pictures. It’s to capture the connection, the laughter, the little quirks, the love, and all of the things that make your family uniquely yours.
I want your portraits to feel like you. I want you to look at an image years from now and remember exactly how your child’s hand felt in yours, the way they laughed, the way they looked at you, or how it felt to have everyone together in that moment.
Because family portraits are about so much more than a photograph. They are pieces of your family’s story—memories made tangible.
I believe your session should be fun, relaxed, and meaningful. You shouldn’t spend your time worrying about perfect poses or whether everyone is smiling at the camera. Instead, I want you to slow down, be present with the people you love, and enjoy being together. I’ll take care of the rest.
I also understand that investing in professional family portraits is meaningful. You are investing your time, your trust, and in something that will become part of your family’s history. I don’t take that lightly.
My hope is that when your session is over, you walk away with more than beautiful portraits. I want you to walk away with an experience you’ll remember and images that become treasured pieces of your family’s story for generations to come.

Payment
At C. Thompson Photography, every session is all-inclusive. Your session investment includes the session fee, applicable taxes, and your collection of high-resolution digital images.
Payment is due at the time of booking and serves as confirmation of your session date. Once payment has been received, your date and time are officially reserved just for you.

Scheduling & The Golden Hour
When scheduling your portrait session with C. Thompson Photography, you may notice that I recommend a very specific time of day—typically the final 60–90 minutes before sunset.
There’s a reason for that.
Photographers call this magical window Golden Hour, and it is one of my favorite times to create. As the sun begins to dip toward the horizon, the light becomes soft, warm, and beautifully diffused. It wraps around you with a natural glow, creates gorgeous skin tones, and gives your portraits that warm, luminous quality that is difficult to recreate at any other time of day.
It’s that little bit of magic that can transform a beautiful photograph into something truly unforgettable.
Of course, every session is unique. Depending on your location, session type, and the look we’re creating together, your start time may fall outside of Golden Hour. Your exact session start time will always be communicated to you prior to your session
Weather & Rescheduling
As much as I love a beautiful Texas sunset, some things are simply beyond our control—and weather is one of them.
My priority is always to give you the best possible experience and photographs. If rain, fog, high winds, or extremely overcast conditions are expected to significantly impact your session, we may need to reschedule.
I will keep a close eye on the forecast and communicate with you as soon as possible if a weather-related change becomes necessary. Together, we’ll select the next available date that works for you, and your session fee will be transferred to the new date.
Sometimes the best photographs are worth waiting for.
